Due to the severe weather in Edmonton and surrounding areas we are canceling the knitting & CSTS volunteer orientation sessions scheduled for this evening at the Carrot.
The volunteer orientation session has been rescheduled to Thurs, June 13 at 7pm at the Carrot.
Knitting will resume on June 26.
I saw a notice in the Carrot where I volunteer about knitters to knit hats. Do you have a pattern and do you need other things knitted. Do you have a preference for colours, or type of yarn? Thank you
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer. We have developed a generic toque pattern which suits our winter weather while declaring the wearer “not afraid of anything”! I’ll email the pattern to you right away.
The toques are tricoloured; red, orange and yellow. We provide yarn free to all local volunteer knitters upon request.
At this point, we only knit toques. I have seen lovely tea pot cozys and slippers in the tri-coloured design but, as of now, none of our knitting group is skilled enough to try to develop a pattern (or knit) these things without some instruction from a brave & more experienced knitter.
